Week 1

I have enjoyed being back and researching again. This week I've concentrated on reading as much as possible and getting on with my ILP. Its been good fun catching up with people online and just simply getting back into the swing of things.

Almost there

Wow, I can't believe that we are about to start year two. The summer has flown by and the cob webs are about to be dusted off the books.

Away from study I have begun work in a new school which is brilliant . I also finished my london to Paris cycle ride raising over my target of £1200.

I'm looking forward to catching up with everybody next week. speak to you all soon.

Reflections

We are quickly arriving at the end of this LO and I felt the need to put some thoughts out there.
I feel that the benifits that I have experienced in my work place because I have reflected on incidents and day to day events have made me a more consciencious practitioner and a much more emotionally stable part of the team. I believe this because I definately think a lot more and am much more open to opinions and advice.
I feel I have benifited away from work aswell. With day to day worries and incidents I am much more relaxed and calm in thinking through things and planning which has helped me become more organised which has resulted in me being much happier.

On my cycling front I am traing hard and trying to collect as much sponsorship as I can for the touching tiny livees appeal.

Cycling Training

Its been a busy week with study and work. I have put time aside to train too. The cycle to Paris is something that I have wanted to do for a while and represents a cause that is quite dear to me. I hope to be able to do myself and the people supporting me justice when I take part.

How I find reflection

I thought I would simply make a list here regarding positives and negatives from which I can refer to in the future.

Positives: I'm more concious of my own pratice.
I am more aware of reflective approaches to help me at work.
I feel that I have more patience.
I have been able to discuss situations at work in a more confident manner explaining
to superiors the reflective process I have used.
Being able to explain the models to fellow staff has been good.

Negatives: People don't generally like change.
In-experience doesn't always give me the power to express views.
Not having enough knowledge(YET) with regards to models and which to use for
certain situations.

study, cycling and reflection

Well I'm finally getting to grips with the amount of work required for our learning objectives. There is still so much to do. I am enjoying reflecting more than action inquiry if I'm honest. Both subjects are capturing my interest and imagination. Action inquiry is simply taking longer to feel at ease with.
With regards to my charity cycling challenge, my training is going well. It is very low key at the moment because there is so much time left before we leave.
I will keep everyone posted as to how work and traing are going.

Busy as always

Hello, I hope everyone is well. I'm having a tough time at present with a virus having hit our school and hitting me too. Its a bit of a struggle but I am plodding on.
On a studying front, I feel I am getting to grips now and hopefully will be up to speed by Monday.
Outside of Uni, I am in training for the London to Paris Charity Cycle. It's not bad at this early stage but over the next few weeks I'll be fitting in more time cycling around my studies.
I need to get over this virus first, then I can be all guns blazing on work, study and training.

Take care all

Phil

Hello

Whilst I understand we are all busy with our work, I would like to mention that, this July I am taking part in the London to Paris cycle event for Action medical research. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could help by sponsoring me and helping this worthwhile cause. There is a link on the right of my page which takes you to the Action medical research pages.

I also do hope everyone is getting on well with the module. Thank you.

Phil

At last

WOO HOO. I'm not too sure how everyone else is feeling but I am really enjoying this module. In studying the different text and models I feel that I'm getting to grips with the course as a whole and not just this module. I think that the reflective part of me has expanded to enable me to plan and think much more clearly when it comes to organisation. Although I do need to make some headway with module 2. My work setting has become much more interesting now I am spending more time reflecting on the incidents that occur everyday. I hope everybody is feeling as positive as me now.

Keep smiling everyone.

Back and reflecting

Hello everyone,
After the break I initially found it difficult to get back into the routine of studying. Now I feel that I am catching up. This module has captured my interest much more so than the first semester. I feel that now we are getting into the bones of our research. It has been great to look at Gibbs model and compare it to Schon's model. In doing this I have already found that I am looking at what I do in work in much more detail and following on from last semester I feel that I am being far more critical of myself.

I hope everyone is enjoying being back
Happy research

Phil
