Merry Christmas

Hello everyone,
After a hectic few weeks of ups and downs, I can honestly say that I am glad for the break. It has been a great experience getting back into study and I am looking forward to the next part of our study.
In the mean time I wish you all a very Merry Christmas.

Way ahead to improve my organisation

I have had a lot of upheaval over the last few weeks which has left me a bit behind. I believe I could have been a lot more organised and used my ILP much more than I have.
I also believe that the dates I put in there for tasks to be completed by were too optimistic. Now that I have a semester (almost) behind me it is time I sat down and thought out an ILP I can realistically keep up with. Obviously I have to wait until we get back after Christmas but my mission is to be far more organised.

Thanks everyone, we're nearly there

Technology

Well I must admit that I had no idea just how involved in technology I would get myself involved with. At work people seem to think that I know a lot more than I actually do. I believe this is down to the community spirit with our cohort and the confidence gained from advice and support.
I am starting to get more involved in posting now and it has made me feel like I am fully involved rather than just passing through.

I am enjoying myself although I do tend to get a bit stressed. I shall get back to the modules now.
Take care everyone and good luck we're nearly there for a break.

Nearly there

well it's been a few weeks since my last post. This is because I have had so much to do at home, work and with my studies. I'm back now and I am pleased to say that I am getting right on with the IOCT module. I'm definatly not up with a lot of people here but I do feel that I can complete the task to the required level. the support online is great and I hope to use this over the next few days.

Cheers

Getting there

Hello,
I am finally getting there now. The IWS module is moving along nicely and I am Finishing my self evaluation.
The IOCT module is not as advanced. I'm not participating as well as I would like, solely due to circumstances at home and work. Not that it excuses my lack of first class activity but it is a reason behind my low profile. It isn't all doom and gloom because I do have work to share and I will be posting Later today.

I hope everyone is well

Half term catch up

Hello,
Wow, this has been a busy half term. I've fallen behind somewhat and now I feel that I am frantically reading every piece of research I can get my hands on. I've visited the library and plan a few more trips there before Monday and I'm back in work.
I feel that I've been watching what other people are doing on-line rather than taking part, especially with LO2 in the IOCT module. I shall be in first class alot more now and will be activly taking part rather than just reading.

As part of my research I have added a few sites of interest. One is workplace ethics and the other is about working on line. Its aimed at a younger generation but it does highlight disadvantages of being online.

Thanks and happy researching

On-line learning

Good evening,

I am finally well again and now feel up to getting stuck into the 2nd module. I am finding this module a little more difficult than the first. I am think that it needs a lot more thought and research because there are less boundary's involved. With the first module things like my competencies are set in stone where as I now have a license to be creative and use my opinions.
Although it is a bit more difficult I do like the chance to express my own views.
I hope everybody else is ok.

On line learning

Hello,
I ve spent most of this evening catching up with people on facebook tonight. I really enjoy the fact that I can get in touch with old school friends quite easily. The downside of this is that it is a good distraction. I am definately going to put that in my cons list.
Ive been reading a little about What is a virtual community and why would you ever need one??
(Sue Boetcher, Heather Duggan, Nancy White).I must admit this is an interesting read. A few of the points made are of definate interest to me. Why do people join and build virtual communities? I think that the main reason for me prior to starting this course was simply to socialize with old friends. Now it is to get advice and guidance from my fellow cohorts and learning facilitators.
Its funny that in a few weeks my views of why I use these media has changed somewhat. I intend to discuss this in greater detail after a little more research.

Back to the research

Its been a busy week so far. Lots of people have been ill at work so its been crazy. I sat down with my boss and discussed what I need to do with regards this course. He was very supportive and keen to give me the opportunity to use the resources available including the staff for help and advice. This was a great relief and has really given me the boost I need to get stuck in to the next module.
So far looking at my work place organisation has been an eye opener. There are so many people. I've decided that I need to include where they are in my plan but I intend to focus on who I work directly with and who I come into contact with regarding issues concerning my role.
Its been fun to see where I fit in and how the wheel actually turns.

I hope everyone is well

Exciting times

Hello,

Its been a busy old day today. Working on individual needs in school can be really difficult but on occasions like today its very rewarding.

I've been looking at my weaknesses in work rather than my strengths with my class teacher with regards to Looking at my role as a whole. She pointed out areas I needed to improve and as if by magic later in the day I actually had to put these newly improved skills to the test with success. I felt very good after this. Now I'm just about to enjoy a bit of light reading- Critical thinking- a concise guide.

I've enjoyed reading the document - The ultraversity model for work based learning and I'll be posting on First class later on.

Hope everyone is well

Sept 29th

Hello,

I feel like I have managed to have a productive day today. I arrived at school just after 8 and finished all of the planned laminating and updating of displays that I had started Friday after school. A positive start to my day. Literacy and maths went well today. I enjoyed listening to a few of the children read before I let them loose with a camera, with the instructions of "take pictures that represent what I do in school" .
I guess I didnt know what i'd let myself in for. Pictures of cups of coffee and lamenating machines were the order of the day. Never mind I enjoyed it and the budding David Bailly's seemed to have fun too.
This afternoon was fairly quiet. The children are running for house captains so are planning speeches and election campaigns. Its all good fun and really seems to get them involved.
On the whole today has been a really bright start to my week.

Now onto my studies. I feel like I am getting ahead with it now especially as I have the photos and More of an idea of what is expected. Thank you all for the advice. I 'll post again soon.

I shall do my very best to keep on updating my Blog.

Best wishes and good luck to everybody
